Prince Plots December Tour Dubbed “Welcome 2 America”. Tickets, Dates, and Presales to be Announced.^

Prince announced at a press conference held this week at the famed Apollo Theater in Harlem that he will return to the road in December 2010. The tour is dubbed “Welcome 2 America.”

Prince will perform and serve as the master of ceremonies on the tour, which will include that petite sensation Janelle Monae and jazz songstress Cassandra Wilson, as well as Mint Condition and Esperanza Spalding.

“Bring your friends, bring your children,” Prince told the audience, according to Billboard. “And bring foot spray, because it’s going to be funky.” 

“Come early, come often. I have a lot of hits… no two shows will be the same,” he teased. Squeal! Gasp! Prince has too many hits and I want to hear them all, from “Raspberry Beret” to “Kiss” to “Let’s Go Crazy to “Seven.”

According to Robert Larsen in his book, History of Rock and Roll, Prince is “one of the most talented and commercially successful pop musicians of the last 20 years”, producing ten platinum albums and thirty Top 40 singles during his career.

This discography excludes compilations of previously-released material. Prince has sold about 100 million records worldwide in his career.
